Changelog #110: Google Authentication Support for Koyeb Control Panel, Service Lifecycle Deletion Policy, and more

Hello, and welcome to this week’s changelog update! Let’s dive into what’s new:

  1. Google Authentication Now Supported for Koyeb Control Panel

In addition to our existing login methods of email/password and GitHub, you can now use your Google account to log into the Koyeb control panel. Expanding authentication options makes it easier for teams to access their environments using the identity providers they already trust, while reducing friction during onboarding.

  2. Service Lifecycle Deletion Policy in the Control Panel

You can now configure automatic Service deletion in your Service settings of the Koyeb control panel, giving you more power to manage your Services. You can schedule a Service to delete after a specified time period or after it remains inactive for a specified time period. This helps teams automatically clean up temporary or experimental environments, reducing unnecessary resource usage and avoiding surprise costs.

  3. Updated Sandbox Image

The default image used when creating Koyeb Sandboxes now includes system utilities, language runtimes and toolchains, and AI tooling, making the default image suitable for automation, testing, and code generation workflows without requiring additional setup. Prior to the update, the default image was a slim version of Ubuntu 22.04 that required you to download common tools. This change shortens the sandbox setup time by removing the need to download additional tools. Check out the documentation for more details.

  4. New Tutorial: Run the GitHub Copilot CLI in Koyeb Sandboxes for Secure Code Generation of a Gradio App

In our latest tutorial, you’ll learn how to build applications that leverage Copilot’s code generation and reasoning capabilities in an isolated, ephemeral environment using Koyeb Sandboxes. Check out the tutorial on the Koyeb website.
