I was trying the ubuntu ssh server. My service and deployment is healthy but I am not seeing the address to which I can ssh into.

The issue should be fixed. The port will be assigned when the service wakes up if it is sleeping, or if you redeploy the service.
We are also working on patching the logic to also assign ports to sleeping services.

Also regarding sleeping services, if the machine sleeps and is again waken up, does the data on the ephemeral disk remain or what?
No the service will not keep data after sleeping and waking up.
If you want data persitency, I suggest using a volume.
